For many years, Bellwood has recognized just how much seniors add to the diversity and vibrancy of the community. The village continues to benefit from the contributions of its active and visible senior population and understands why it’s important to prioritize offering programs, services, and special events tailored to the senior community.

Bellwood residents can take advantage of many programs, services, and resources offered close to home at the West Suburban Senior Center and the Memorial Park District.

West Suburban Senior Center

The West Suburban Senior Center (439 Bohland Ave, Bellwood, IL) is a welcoming senior community with knowledgeable, dedicated, and caring staff. The Senior Center is open weekdays from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM and offers no-cost programming and activities including exercise classes, educational presentations, and socializing opportunities, including a program for LGBT+ older adults. The West Suburban Senior Center has been assisting senior citizens in the western suburbs for more than 30 years. The West Suburban Senior Center is one program in Chicago Methodist Senior Services’ (CMSS) system of care. CMSS is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization providing an array of programs and services for older adults across Chicagoland.

Visiting the West Suburban Senior Center

Free parking is available in a lot behind the Senior Center, with access from Butterfield Road. Plenty of street parking is also available. Family and friends can drop participants off at either the front or back door of the Senior Center. Either way, visitors will need to ring the bell.
