The primary function of the Bellwood Police Department is to:
- enforce all federal, state and local ordinances
- preserve life and property
- deter crime
- apprehend and prosecute offenders
- increase public awareness to enhance the quality of life in the village
The department’s mission is to promote, preserve and deliver a sense of security, safety and quality services to all members of the community and those who pass within our borders. The Police Department is divided into four divisions: Operations/Patrol, Investigative, Service and Community Policing.
