Cook County Homeowner Relief Fund Expands Eligibility, Extends Application Deadline

The eligibility requirement, as well as the application deadline, have changed for the Cook County Homeowner Relief Fund, which will assist homeowners who have experienced a significant increase in their property taxes in recent years.

Eligibility requirements now include:

A property tax bill increase of at least 30% in any of the 2021, 2022 or 2023 tax years (The previous increase requirement was at least 50%.)

An income at or below 100% of the Cook County Area Median Income (AMI) for the applicant’s household size

The application deadline is now Friday, October 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. The previous deadline was October 10, 2025.
