Odd and even dates are ascertained from the date previous to midnight. If a violation hours fall on an odd numbered day, the vehicle should be parked on the even side of the street. If violation hours fall on an even numbered day, the car should be parked on the odd side of the street.

Vehicle Stickers

Bellwood vehicle stickers are available for purchase starting in January and are required to be displayed by May 1 each year. Proper display consists of applying the sticker in the passenger side front window at least six inches from the bottom of window. New residents must purchase a sticker within 30 days of moving into Bellwood.

Disputing Parking Tickets

If a resident wants to dispute a parking ticket, contact the Police department's Records Division and ask for the court date for the ticket in question. Court hearings are held on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Immobilization Unit

Bellwood currently uses an immobilization unit (commonly known as the Denver Boot) to collect unpaid parking fines within the village. Vehicle owners who have collected five or more parking or compliance fines will be eligible for the Denver Boot. Any vehicle that the debtor owns can be booted. Once the Denver Boot is placed on the vehicle, do not attempt to move the vehicle. This may cause extensive damage and the village will not be responsible for the damage. There is a $30 administrative fee applied to the total balance.
